Working with teams
How I'd work
with your team.
AI makes a team faster. My job is to make them better.
The planning cycle · five questions
The questions haven't changed since 1968. Who answers them has.
Built on Stephen King's planning cycle (JWT, 1968).
Alignment and commitment
AI can align a strategy. It can't get anyone to commit to it.
Getting the pieces to line up.
Research, priorities, brand and channels pulled into one clear line. AI is good at this, and fast.
Getting people to believe in it.
A leadership team, a department, a room. That happens face to face, in workshops and working sessions, where the strategy is sold in, not sent round. It's where my experience counts most.
Where I'd start
Small, real and side by side.
One workflow first
Pick one piece of work the team does every week. Get that right before touching anything else.
Agree where people stay in
Decide up front which calls are always made by a person. Write them down.
Learn by building
We make a real piece of work together. People learn the tools on real work, side by side, not in a training session.
The rules we'd keep
Three things that don't change.
A person signs it off
Nothing goes to a client or the public without someone putting their name to it.
Never guess
An empty field is honest. A plausible guess is not. Every fact gets a source.
Insight comes from people
AI can theme what people said. Someone still has to be in the room to hear it.
